2014 Retreats

Dancing on the Razor’s Edge

Three-Day Residential Retreat at Garrison Institute, Garrison, NY

Thursday evening, May 29, through noon on Sunday, June 1, 2014

Tuition: $200

Accommodations: Double $405, Single $465, Triple or dorm style (depending on availability) $360

For this retreat we'll explore the paradox of being both no one and someone, a person in the world, with our unique preferences and idiosyncracies, and at the same time consciousness undisturbed by the vicissitudes of life. This still point, where emptiness bursts into form, I like to call the razor's edge. How do we honor our someoneness while living from the truth of our sacred emptiness?

The power of a retreat like this is the opportunity it provides to join together with an intimate group of kindred spirits (maximum of 25) and focus our attention on exploring the great matter of life and death: Who am I, why am I here, what is the deeper meaning of life?

Because of the intimate size of this retreat, we'll have plenty of time to delve into this paradox together and to answer any questions you might have and to clarify your understanding. My hope is that you'll leave the retreat with a deeper appreciation of who you really are.

The Garrison Institute is a retreat center along the Hudson River about an hour north of NYC whose purpose is to support the practice of contemplation and its application in the world. The facilities are spacious, comfortable, and supportive of deep self-inquiry. Please join me for a three-day journey into the mystery of our nondual nature.

Note: Because of Stephan's chemical sensitivities, we ask that you please do not wear scented products to satsangs, intensives, or retreats, including shampoo, conditioner, perfume, cologne, fabric softener, essential oils, gels, deodorants, and creams. Best to shower with unscented soap and refrain from adding any personal care products. Thank you.

Wake Up Now! (New Dates)

Three-Day Non-Residential Retreat at Caritas Healing Center in Tucson, AZ

Thursday evening, October 9, through noon on Sunday, October 12, 2014

Tuition: $225.00

Perfect for first-timers and seasoned seekers, this silent retreat will create a powerful crucible in which the recognition of our true nature is more likely to occur. In addition to periods of silent sitting, each day will feature several dharma talks that point directly to our homeground as awakened awareness, beyond the mind, as well as guided meditations that invite awakening and ample time for dialogue and inquiry.
